With the rapid rise in food allergies, finding “safe” food has become harder, especially if you rely on commercially prepared meals. These are recipes that have worked well for one of our children, who is severely allergic to tree nuts, peanuts, and eggs. We cannot guarantee they will fit your needs 100%, but can give you a starting point to eat safely – and well – while out.
Note: We also have a section of Gluten-Free recipes as well. Some of the below recipes DO contain wheat or gluten. The key here is no peanuts, tree nuts, or eggs. For any recipe calling for bread or tortillas, use what works in your diet!
This list is not done, more to come.
Tuna Bruschetta (Don’t use the optional mayo, although for some, Just Mayo, which is vegan can be used)
Curried Fruit Hummus (Tip: Use homemade hummus you dehydrate at home)
Herbed Tomato Couscous Salad (You can find couscous made from rice as well)
Salsa Hummus (use homemade hummus, dehydrated)
Snacks & Desserts:
Dandelion Muffins (use the non-nut suggestions in recipe)
Apple & Twigs (make with Sunbutter)
And if no time, there are safe treats to take along! Commercially safe treats.
