Disclaimer!!!

As with all stoves and fuels, you MUST read and understand the directions before using. They are for outside use only, do not use in ANY tent, tarp or shelter. We do not take any responsibility for you using any stove, pan or other items we sell.

Try the stove out at home first, before you take it on the trail. Use at your own risk, all stoves carry an inherent risk due to producing heat and flame. If you cannot do this, please do not use the stove for your own safety.

  • Esbit fuel has a light odor when lit, one that not everyone will like. It can also leave soot on your pan or cup's bottom. This washes off.
  • When using an Esbit or alcohol fueled stove use a piece of foil under it on wood surfaces, such as picnic tables, it can leave burn marks in the wood.
  • Be aware of fire bans when camping. Alcohol stoves are usually not allowed during high risk times.
  • Carry the stove inside your mug or pot to protect it.
  • You accept that the stoves may not be as fast as other fuel types of stoves. Accept you might wait up to 15 minutes for your water to boil.
  • Alcohol stoves are designed to be used with denatured alcohol or Gas Line Heet (Yellow Bottle). Both fuels can be easily found in any paint department.  Heet is the better option, as it burns cleaner.

Carry all liquid fuel in a bottle or container rated for carrying fuel.  Make sure it is tight and sealed.

Alcohol can be hard to see in the sun, when it is burning.

Do not spill fuel on yourself.

Mark your fuel bottle always with permanent ink that it is a poison.  Dye it bright red with food coloring to make it easier to see.
