Creamy pudding with a crunchy topping
At home:
Add the pudding mix and dry milk to a pint freezer bag or sandwich bag. Pack the granola bar with it.
In camp:
Add a shy 1 cup cold water, seal tightly and shake for a couple minutes. Find a cold creek or snowbank to stash the pudding in. Let sit for 10 minutes or longer to finish setting up.
Crumble or chop up the bar and top with it.
We used Trader Joe's all natural instant pudding mix (see here: http://blog.trailcooking.com/2009/09/11/trail-pudding-pies/ ), feel free to use whatever brand you prefer. You will want 1/2 of a 4 serving box, usually around 3 to 4 ounces in size.
We used http://kashi.com/products/chewy_granola_bars_trail_mix for the topping.
